Abstract. This article systematizes international social-psychological studies on decision-making by employees, managers, and groups in situations of organizational change conducted between 2016 and 2026. This decade is considered as a stage during which the field, building on the dichotomy between intuitive and analytical modes of judgement that had been established by the mid-2000s, shifted from treating them as distinct to investigating their interplay under conditions of uncertainty. Four development trajectories are traced: the integration of intuition and rational calculation in strategic decisions of management teams; examining the role of sensemaking and shared emotions in collaborative activity during change; refining the boundaries of applicability for judgment heuristics; and the emergence of research on trust in algorithms and the allocation of decision-making between humans and artificial intelligence systems. The international findings are discussed in relation to the Russian tradition of studying joint activity, trust, and attitudes of the person and the group toward new technologies. Russian psychology has not systematically addressed decision-making within this social-psychological framework; this work is the first to systematically present international experience in relation to that tradition.
Keywords: decision-making, joint activity, social interaction, uncertainty, organizational change, intuition, judgment heuristics, sensemaking, group decisions, trust in artificial intelligence
